Beginning the journey to expand our family

After several weeks of discussion with each other, talking with friends & family, and talking with other adoptive families we have decided to pursue international adoption.

We are hopeful that we will be able to adopt from Korea and we are currently working with two different agencies, AIAAadopt.org [AIAA] and carolinaadoption.org [CAS], they both use Social Welfare Society (SWS) in Korea- we hope to select one by the end of the week. There are new restrictions going into act in July so we are going to work to get our homestudy and paperwork done quickly. We don't think we will get a referral this year because of the new restrictions but we should have no problem getting a referral in 2013. We are requesting to adopt a little boy which means we will be on the "short" list because most American families want to adopt girls. We are aware that this may be a long process but we are so excited to start this journey.

I really have to thank Brenda Mills, Elizabeth & Michael Elks, and Alicia & Matt Yanick for helping us make this very important decision.
